Online Sexual Harms in Singapore

A victim-survivor centered approach to sexual violence research.

What is Online Sexual Harms in Singapore (OSHSG)?

OSHSG is an independent research project that investigates online sexual harms on a national scale.

Online sexual harms refer to harmful or unwanted sexual behaviors enabled online or facilitated by digital technologies. Some examples include digital sexual harassment, nonconsensual distribution of nude or intimate content, and “deepfakes” or fake content generated by artificial intelligence (AI). Find out more about different forms of online sexual harms here.

In this study, we seek especially to understand victim-survivors’ experiences of online sexual harms as well as other people’s norms, values, attitudes, and feelings towards such harms in Singapore.
